  • Benefits of a Mixed Age Centre
I came across this gorgeous moment last week and I got me pondering some of the benefits of a mixed age centre.

  • It's Beginning to Look Like Spring!
We've noticed a change in the weather and our activities are getting a little more daring outside. We have had a lot of physical play outside, like ball games and hut making, and lots of fine motor activities like painting. It's been beautiful to be visited by the sun!

  • Playing Together
We have noticed a very strong interest in helping and supporting each other recently. It's the most wonderfully gorgeous thing.
The children have been playing beautifully together and the older children have been assisting the younger ones when they get in to tricky situations.
One of the blessings of a mixed age centre is that our older tamariki can role model to our younger bubs. It is a fantastic and genuine way to learn!
Our big School Readiness Children are very aware that our little poppets are often right behind them, ready to copy their behaviour, and they use this knowledge wisely.
